Wildland Fire Respirator
Wildland firefighters are exposed to many of the same respiratory hazards as structural firefighters except that wildland firefighters are generally not exposed to chemical vapors associated with the combustion of synthetic polymers. The hazards encountered by wildland firefighters include particulates and vapors, the most commonly being carbon monoxide (CO), acrolein, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), aldehydes and ketones, and the wide variety of wood pyrolysis and combustion products.
Powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR).
Tailored to the needs of wildland firefighters.
Lighter and smaller than most commercially available PAPRs.
Minimizes burden while providing NFPA 1984:2022 level respiratory protection.
